IBPS Selection Process @IBPS.in | IBPS Clerk Selection Process
IBPS Exam is completed in three phases – the first is the initial Examination which is the IBPS Preliminary Exam. Candidates clearing the first stage are eligible for the second step that is the IBPS Mains Examination and the candidates passing in both phases are eligible for the last phase – Interview round.
Please note that IBPS Clerk Exam does not take place in an interview. Which means that candidates appearing for the IBPS Clerk Examination will have to only clear the IBPS Prelims & Mains Examination only.
Keep in mind that your entire score will also have negative marking. For every wrong answer, 0.25 points will be deducted from your overall score. Therefore, do not try to impose more laps or estimation, otherwise, the points of corrected questions will also be deducted.

IBPS Clerk Exam Age Limit Criteria?
- Minimum Age – 20 Years
- Maximum Age – 28 Years

IBPS Clerk Educational Qualification Criteria?
A Graduation degree of the applying candidate is required from a reputed university. They have to show their valid mark sheet or degree certificates mentioning their academic marks & percentage with the passing out date.
In addition to that applying candidates should have appropriate knowledge about computer systems I.e. they should have a valid certificate/degree/diploma in computer operations or IT (information technology). IBPS Clerk Exam Pattern?
IBPS Clerk Exam is divided into two parts one is IBPS Preliminary Exam & the other one is IBPS Mains Examination. The preliminary Exam of IBPS Clerk contains a total of 100 marks with 100 question. The time duration of IBPS Clerk Examination is 01 hour.
The IBPS mains Examination has a maximum of 190 questions for a total of 200 marks. Please note that the time duration for IBPS Clerk main Examination is different for different subject’s paper.

Overview of IBPS Clerk Preliminary Exam pattern
IBPS Clerk preliminary Examination is the first step for IBPS Clerk Exams. It is divided into a total of three sections. First section in the IBPS Clerk prelims Exam is in the English language with a maximum of 30 questions. Each question contains 1 mark which means that this section will have a total of 30 marks.
Next is the Quantitative aptitude section. It is very important to know that the syllabus of IBPS Clerk quantitative aptitude for prelims Exam is very lengthy & difficult to cover. In addition to that, the quantitative aptitude section contains only a max. Of 35 marks for 35 questions which is comparatively very low with the vast syllabus.
Last section in the IBPS Clerk preliminary Exam is of reasoning ability. This section consists of a total of 35 marks for the 35 question as each question contains 1 mark.
So, the total of all these three sections becomes 30+35+35=100

After each Exam cut off marks are decided by the Exam conducting board. Participating aspirants must score the sectional & overall cut off in order to make themselves eligible for the IBPS Clerk Mains Exams. Like IBPS prelims, IBPS Clerk mains Examination is also divided into sections. There will be a total of 4 sections in the IBPS Clerk mains Examination. The first section is of general & financial awareness with the total of 50 questions for 50 marks. Exam duration for the mentioned section is 35 minutes.
Moving towards the next section which is the English language section – it has a total of 40 questions for 40 marks as each question contains 1 mark. The time duration for this section is 30 minutes.
The third section is the reasoning ability & computer aptitude section with a maximum of 50 questions for a total of 60 marks. Candidates have to complete this section in the 45 minutes of time frame. The last & final section is Quantitative aptitude – comes with the total of 50 questions for a total of 50 marks.
Like the third section aspirants have to complete this section in period of 45 minutes. Please note that the syllabus for this section is very big & lengthy. So, appearing candidate should complete this section very thoroughly.
So, the total of these 4 sections becomes 50+40+60+50=200 marks
